
DOG ADOPTION CAMPAIGN
This module has been designed to help foster of sense of care and concern among students for their community, environment and the world at large. This module will help develop students' sense of personal and social responsibility. They will learn through participating in a community service experience and will have the opportunity to use their skills and knowledge in real-life situations.
Group Work
In our scenario, we had chosen to help to increase the rate of shelter pet adoption by rasing awareness & increase shelter pet adoption by showing people that shelter pets is loving, well-adjusted animals who are homeless through no fault of their own.
First, we went to a dog shelter house in Kuala Selangor to clean up their shelter and also help up the shower session. After that , we start up with 4 steps movement that can have a long lasting impact for animals. Our hope is that the campaign will encourage millions of potential pet lovers to make shelters the first choice and desired way for acquiring companion animals. Below is the breakdown of the 4 parts project:
Individual Part
What I’ve participate in is rebranding and preparing postcard. After my teamates have passed me the photos of each dog, I’ve prepared new postcard design to represent each dogs that is up for adoption. In doing this I could help the cast aside dogs to get their new image and let the public know that they are just friendly normal dogs.
Once my teammates had prepared the postcards, I’ve participated in also selling those cards in order to raise funds for LASS. The yearly expenditure of LASS is a huge amount of money, so we thought of running some fund raising activity would help them out partly of their overly high expenditure.
I hope that the adopted dogs will have a better future in their new home and those that haven’t been adopted will have someone to take in them real soon.
